I always have 2 trees~ the 'family' tree in the family room with all my keepsake ornaments and the really dear to my heart ones made by my kids when they were little. The 'girl' tree, as my late husband called it, is in the formal living room. It is pink, ivory and gold in a Victorian theme. This year I also plan to have a small French Country tree on top of my armoire in the dining room. It will feature these tiny burlap birds.
I started with the burlap type fabric, (really a coarse onsaburg) and ironed some Heat N Bond to one side. Then I traced and cut out my birds.
I also cut two birds from fabric without the the Heat N Bond. I then ironed the pieces together and stamped my french script pattern with StayZon ink.
The final step was sewing on a jute loop for hanging.
My pretty little tree!
Adorable!
ReplyDeleteThese are absolutely ADORABLE! |'ve also been listening to Xmas music ~ much to the dismay of my Hubby!
ReplyDeleteI also do 2 Christmas trees for the holidays. I like how your husband called it the "girl tree". These ornaments are so sweet. Love the script on them. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteThese are so sweet! I really like them!
ReplyDeleteLove em! I have so much leftover burlap - this is the perfect use for it!

I love your little, Christmas birdies! They are perfect for your French country tree!
ReplyDeleteLove them! So simple, yet classy. May have to try them.
ReplyDeleteSo Cute. What a great idea!
ReplyDeleteI love that! I need a quick and easy ornament idea to make for thank you gifts for all the cochairs for a big party I'm in charge of, and this could be perfect! Where did you buy your stamp and fabric?
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Elisabeth
Your ornaments are so pretty and look so easy to make. I'll be doing a new shabby chic tree this year too. If I don't have enough ornaments, I may have to copy your idea for it.
