French Country Ruched Pillows

I was out shopping with my daughter yesterday and we came across these cute little green pillows at a certain bargain establishment.  She said you should sell those on in your Etsy shoppe, dress them up with a bit of fabric.  So I grabbed a couple to see what I could come up with.

I love the combination of sage green and black so I dug through my fabric stash and found a cute black and white fat quarter.

I took the fabric and cut two long strips about 5 inches wide the length of the quarter and sewed them together.  Then I sewed the long side together to form a strip and turned right side out to finish the ends.

I took the strip and ruched it then hand sewed it across the pillow.  Here is my finished project.

I love it!  I think I’ll sell this one in my Etsy shoppe and make another for myself.  And get back to the store for some more pillows!  Wouldn’t it be gorgeous with some black and  white damask or the French script fabric? Oh, the possibilities!

  1. Very cute, Renee...you really jazzed that pillow up nicely. Are you putting it in your shop? I bet it will sell fast. Great job!

  2. That's so cute, Renee. It looks like it's wearing a garter, and is perfect on the chair :).

  3. Renee, your ruffled pillow is gorgeous! You know I love ruffles! I like the sage green with the black and white too. I agree - it would look fabulous on some Frenchy fabric as well.
