This little project was so fun and came together in about 1/2 hour. I found the cute little oblong frame for a dollar at the thrift store. I had planned to make it into a chalkboard but after painting it heirloom white it just sat for awhile.
I have really been wanting to get some of my old black and white photos of my parents up and thought how great they would look against the burlap.
So I cut a piece to fit the frame back and glued it down then just added my photos with double backed acid free tape. These pics are from their wedding day in 1952 and their first few years of marriage. They're both with the Lord now but I love keeping their memory alive and seeing the joy of their wedding day. If you could see up close my mom is laughing as my dad feeds her the cake. Just makes me smile to look at it.
Linking up to the fun parties below. Have a great weekend!
Why do we love burlap so? I guess because it is rustic and we are wanting to get back to more simple times. That's just my take on it.
ReplyDeleteLove your frame and I'd love to do something like it! :-)
XO,
Jane
Very cute!
ReplyDeleteYour burlap and white combination is very pretty! The black and white photos look lovely displayed on the burlap with the white frame. I love your little Noel frame too!
ReplyDeleteHi there~ Love the burlap in the frames- it is perfect for your photos. I like that burlap is rustic, but can be elevated a bit and is comfy no matter where you use it. Thank you for sharing at Feathered Nest Friday!
ReplyDeleteI love this look. What a nice way to honor your parents!
ReplyDeleteMmmmm, burlap and white.... dreamy.
ReplyDeleteSuch a nice idea Renee. I've got a lot of burlap from a project, and I think your frame idea just might work for me. Thanks and Merry Christmas. Love, Penny
ReplyDeleteA very simple and beautiful idea. Your parents were married the year I was born - and their both gone now? How sad. I have a bunch of burlap waiting for me to do something with it after christmas. Thanks for the idea.
